Holly Be Tells aims to make home decisions easier through useful, clearly explained editorial guidance. This policy sets out the standards behind our articles. Policy date: 11 October 2026.

Start with a real need

We organise advice around household situations: limited storage, a busy entrance, a small kitchen or a room that needs better lighting. A recommendation should explain the problem it may solve, who it suits and the compromise involved. Buying more is not automatically the answer; measuring, maintaining or rearranging existing belongings can be the better first step.

Research and sources

We use published manufacturer and retailer information for product details and relevant authoritative sources for factual guidance. Where a guide refers to a named product, readers should check the linked current information before purchasing. Specifications, availability and policies can change after publication.

We distinguish an editorial judgement from a verified product specification. Judgements about suitability depend on stated circumstances, such as the space available or the care routine a reader can manage. We do not present those judgements as universal findings.

Research is not hands-on testing

Unless an article explicitly describes a documented hands-on assessment, it is research-led guidance. We do not claim to have bought, personally used, measured or tested the products discussed. Illustrative household scenarios help explain a decision and are not accounts of an invented personal experience.

We do not fabricate ratings, testimonials, laboratory results, awards or customer review counts. If future coverage includes hands-on testing, the article should explain what was assessed, how and under what conditions, together with relevant limits.

Buying advice and commercial links

We favour practical selection criteria: dimensions, materials, care, fit, flexibility and features a reader will actually use. We explain reasons to skip an item as well as reasons to consider it. Prices and promotions change, so readers should confirm the current total cost and returns conditions with the seller.

Images and presentation

Editorial images illustrate the topic or household setting. Unless a caption states otherwise, a lifestyle image should not be interpreted as evidence of a product test, an author's own home or the exact item offered by a merchant. We aim to use relevant alternative text and readable layouts.

Corrections and maintenance

We welcome specific corrections at [email protected]. Include the page URL, the disputed detail and a reliable source where possible. We assess factual corrections and revise relevant content when appropriate. A publication or updated date records the date shown for that article; it does not guarantee that a merchant's information has remained unchanged since then.
